Lobo Lowe Music
"A disciplined space for the comparative study, teaching, and realization of diverse musical traditions."
Studio Instruction & Mentorship
Training in Double Bass and Electric Bass, with customized options for professional writing, improvisation, and musicianship.
Foundational Traditions
We blend technical training with improvisation and professional writing skills, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the instrument as a stylistically fluent artist in Art Music, Pop Music, and Jazz covering:
- Classical & Art Music: Foundational mechanics, repertoire, and musicianship training.
- Jazz & Improvisation: Harmony, vocabulary, and rhythm section skills.
- World Music Traditions: Authentic technique across Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Caribbean, and African American performance styles.
- Composition & Arranging: Professional writing, with piano training.
Custom Pathways
We teach classical, Third Stream, and non-traditional curricula that conservatories often omit. Every student follows a curriculum tailored to their specific objectives. Whether you are building technique from the ground up, preparing for collegiate auditions, or refining your professional performance skills, we focus on:
- Music Theory & Harmonic Analysis.
- Improvisation Methodology.
- Solo & Ensemble Repertoire.
- Musicianship Training.
Studio Access
Instruction is conducted in-person at our specialized Howard County studio. To ensure consistent progress and curriculum mastery, the studio operates on an Annual Membership model (40-week academic calendar). This structure provides priority scheduling, regular performance benchmarks, and a formalized progress plan. A limited number of "Flex" slots are available for learners requiring irregular scheduling.
Community Engagement
We reserve a limited number of community-access slots annually for students who demonstrate high potential and mission alignment. Through our fiscal sponsorship with Fractured Atlas, these placements are managed as part of our broader accessibility mission. Please contact the studio to discuss availability.
Music Programs & Ensemble Support
Partnering with schools, libraries, and arts organizations to deliver high-impact music programming. Beyond our private studio, we support existing music programs through professional collaboration. Whether delivering these initiatives directly or coordinating with a team of qualified professional associates to ensure scalability for larger ensembles, we provide practical support in the following formats:
Small Group Instruction
Focused technical and musical guidance for ensemble sections or specific student cohorts.
Technique Workshops
Sessions tailored to solve specific performance challenges or elevate technical fluency within your ensemble.
Side-by-Side Performance Support
Collaborative rehearsals where we work directly with students and directors to refine ensemble presentations and artistic interpretation.

Engaging, ready-to-deploy cultural presentations for libraries and community organizations that blend live performance with historical context.
Social Equity, Access & Partnership Programming
Mission-aligned arts education and cultural programming for underserved populations.
